Uganda tourism is currently at risk. Recently there has been a petition asking travellers to talk about their experiences visiting Uganda and why The Nile River is important to tourism.
A year ago, a new dam opened and now they are discussing building another large one that will put an end to rafting and kayaking in Uganda. This will mean the loss of so many jobs for locals. Tourism is very important in Uganda. A smaller dam is possible that would not only generate much needed power for Uganda; it would save the Nile’s white water rapids and therefore the tourist industry that’s built up around them.
