Itinerary
Day 1 Colombo – Kuliyapitiya
Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Kuliyapitiya – Sigiriya
Continue your journey to Sigiriya to climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Later, join a naturalist to observe the elusive Grey Slender Loris on a night walk.
Day 3 Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya
Carry on to Polonnaruwa, to discover an interesting blend of archaeological monuments. Join a primate expert to observe 3 type of fascinating monkeys. A game drive at the Hurulu Forest Reserve gets you close to Asian Elephants.
Day 4 Sigiriya – Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
Continue your journey to Kandy and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a famous Buddhist site. Continue to the central highlands, and absorb the beautiful and tranquil nature.
Day 5 Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya
Proceed on a trek in Horton Plains National Park. The park hosts many species of plant, endemic birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and butterflies. Next, make a stop at Haggala Botanical Gardens.
Day 6 Nuwara Eliya – Yala
Carry on to Yala and a tented campsite. Here you will spend 3 nights bordering Yala National Park, one of the oldest and largest national parks in the island.
Days 7 and 8 Yala
During the next two days embark on morning and afternoon game drives to the Yala National Park. Three of Sri Lanka’s “Big 5” can be found here leopard, sloth bear and elephant. In addition, bird-lovers will particularly enjoy the display of over 200 different species.
Day 9 Yala – Bundala – Galle – Mirissa
Set off to the birdwatching trail at Bundala National Park. Later, make a stop in the suburbs of Galle city for a unique cinnamon tapping experience.
Day 10 Mirissa
Embark on a half day Whale and Dolphin watching expedition. However, Mirissa offers whale watching all year. During the evening, enjoy a walking tour along the atmospheric streets of the Galle Dutch Fort.
Day 11 Mirissa- Colombo -Airport
Transfer to the capital city of Colombo in time for a farewell lunch. Check in at a Colombo Hotel for day use. Finally, departure transfer to the airport when you are ready.
