Itinerary
Day 1 Colombo
Your guide will meet you upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport. Thereafter, transfer to downtown Colombo and check-in at your overnight hotel.
Day 2 Colombo – Melsiripura – Dambulla – Cultural Triangle
Proceed to a scenic monastic retreat. Observe some of the daily rituals of the 15 residents. Next, continue to UNESCO Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. the site dates back to 1st century BC. Carry on to Cultural Triangle.
Day 3 Cultural Triangle
This morning is yours to spend at leisure. Optionally, you may engage in an extra excursion. Later, in the afternoon, transfer to Sigiriya. Next, we climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, built in the 5th century BC.
Day 4 Cultural Triangle – Kandy
Head out for a hands-on gem experience with a specialist. Continue your journey to Kandy and The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Special note: It is recommended to cover up and dress modestly when visiting the temple.
Day 5 Kandy – Peradeniya – Kandy
Enjoy leisure time or proceed on an optional visit to a village dancing school. During the afternoon, take in Peradeniya’s Royal Botanical Gardens. Stroll through the scenic gardens which house over 4000 species.
Day 6 Kandy – Central Highlands
Embark on a picturesque drive to the central highlands. Make a stop to see a working tea factory and estate. Subsequently, settle in at your hill country hotel. Here you will spend the next two nights.
Day 7 Central Highlands
The day is yours to spend enjoying the scenic mountain environment. Alternatively, depending on which location we are staying, participate in an optional excursion trekking, climbing, or a thrilling zip-line.
Day 8 Central Highlands – Galle
Today we head to Galle. Take an evening stroll along the streets of the Galle Dutch Fort, one more UNESCO World Heritage Site. Catch the sun setting over the Indian Ocean.
Day 9 Galle
Venture out for a cinnamon tapping experience. Discover the method of growing and harvesting cinnamon. Follow with a delicious cinnamon-inspired lunch.
Day 10 Galle – Airport
Finally, transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport in time to connect with your onward flight.
