Rwanda Gorilla Safari – RG3

Then, discover the pristine mountain terrain on your way to meet mountain gorillas face to face. Trek through dense rain forest on famous primatologist Dian Fossey’s turf. 3 days Kigali to Kigali.
Itinerary
Day 1 Kinigi
Arrive at Kayibanda International airport in Kigali where you will be met and escorted to take in the sights. Visit the genocide memorial, a tribute to the millions of people killed in the civil war in the 1990’s. Have lunch before setting off to wind your way through the beautiful countryside of the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ up to Kinigi, near the Volcanoes National Park. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest and relaxation.

Day 2 – Track Mountain Gorillas at Volcanoes National Park
We arise with the sun, have breakfast, and meet with a ranger guide before setting off into the gorilla sanctuary with a packed lunch. The rain forest landscape is steep and densely forested, but criss-crossed with animal trails allowing access to humans. The trek to spy on the earth’s greatest primate can take several hours of challenging walking. The conditions can be wet and muddy, but the thrill of discovering this gentle giant in its own habitat is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. For their safety, the maximum time allowed with the gorillas will be one hour. The memories will be forever embedded in your mind. Dinner and overnight near the Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3 – Depart
Bask in the memories as you relax over breakfast. Gaze at the views and stop for photos of Bulera and Ruhondo lakes on the return to Kigali. Enjoy lunch and then transfer to the airport for your departure from Rwanda.

Note – Please note that gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour. Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will not be allowed to track.
