Itinerary
Day 1 Kigali
Arrive at Kayibanda International airport in Kigali where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for dinner, rest and relaxation.

Day 2 Kibuye
After breakfast at the hotel, take in the sights of this interesting city on a morning tour, including a stop at the genocide memorial, a tribute to the millions of people killed in the civil war in the 1990’s, as well as a visit to the market and the Moslem quarter. After lunch, journey through the beautiful countryside of the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ and discover the gleaming waters of Lake Kivu. Enjoy dinner and overnight in Kibuye.

Day 3 Kinigi
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the lakeshore or take an early morning swim. Following breakfast, take in a visit to a tea plantation, browse around in a local village market as we leisurely make our way to Gisenyi. Break for lunch at a beach restaurant. Continue on to Kinigi, near Volcanoes National Park where you will await your gorilla trek.

Days 4 and 5 – Track Mountain Gorillas at Volcanoes National Park
We arise with the sun, have breakfast, and meet with a ranger guide before setting off into the gorilla sanctuary with a packed lunch. The rain forest landscape is steep and densely forested, but criss-crossed with animal trails allowing access to humans. The trek to spy on the earth’s greatest primate can take several hours of challenging walking in the wet and muddy conditions, but the thrill of discovering this gentle giant in its own habitat is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. For their safely, the maximum time allowed with the gorillas will be one hour. Trek back to your accommodations with memories to last a lifetime. Dinner and overnight are spent near Volcanoes National Park.

Day 6 – Depart
Journey back to Kigali following breakfast. Enjoy the views and stop for photos of Bulera and Ruhondo lakes before lunch, a tour of Kigali and transfer to the airport for your departure from Rwanda.

Note – Please note that gorilla tracking is a strenuous activity and one should be physically fit to enjoy this tour. Anyone with signs of communicable diseases will not be allowed to track.
