Explore Gokyo Valley, in Sagarmatha National Park, on this Gokyo Ri Trek. Day 1 Kathmandu
Arrival at the International Airport, where you will be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening.
Day 2 Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding
A short flight takes you to the tiny airstrip at Lukla. Begin the trek with an easy walk to Phakding village.
Day 3 Namche Bazaar
Continue up the banks of the Dudh Kosi. Cross small suspension bridges and the entrance gate of the Sagarmatha National Park. Finally, a gradual walk brings us to the town of Namche Bazaar.
Day 4 Namche Bazaar
Spend a day in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization. You have a full day of leisure to take in views, stroll around the market, or take in the Sherpa Museum.
Day 5 Dole
Be rewarded with a magnificent view of the great giant snow peaks at Shanasa after some gradual ups and downs. Ascend to Mongla hill, then down to Phortse Thanga, and finally the ascent to Dole.
Day 6 Machhermo
Today we climb to a scenic ridge and along the side of a valley, where we reach the small village of Machhermo.
Day 7 Gokyo
Trek up to a ridge for excellent views of the valley and of Cho-Oyu mountain (8153m/26,741ft). Climb up to the terminal moraine of the Ngazumpa glacier and Longponga Lake.
Day 8 Explore day at Gokyo
Take a full rest day rest or choose to explore the fourth and fifth lakes. This is great place to view part of Mt. Everest and Cho-Oyu as well as Ngazumpa Glacier, the world’s largest.
Day 9 To Gokyo Ri, Gokyo to Phorse Village/ Phorste Thanga
Early in the morning, we hike up to Gokyo Ri for the breathtaking sunrise, and a view of the top of Mt. Everest. You will have unforgettable memories of many of the famous Himalayan mountains and glaciers. We then start our descent back through the same valley.
Day 10 Tengboche
This morning we will mostly be heading down to Tengboche and the monastery. A great view of Mt. Ama Dablam greets us, as well as Thamserku, the top of Mt. Everest, and Nuptse.
Day 11 Namche Bazaar
Head down to forested hills and then a long walk uphill to the Kyanjuma junction. We will stop for a visit at the hospital and school founded by Sir Edmund Hillary. Continue down to Namche Bazaar.
Day 12 Lukla
Descend to Lukla, quite an easy trek. The guide will re-confirm the flights to Kathmandu for the following day. Celebrate your success in Lukla.
Day 13 Kathmandu
After an early flight to Kathmandu, our guide will transfer you to your hotel for rest. Meet for a celebratory farewell dinner at one of the fine Nepalese restaurants in Thamel area.
Day 14 Departure from Kathmandu
Today you will be transferred to the International Airport for your departing flight.
