Wind your way through the beautiful countryside of the ‘Land of a Thousand Hills’ as you make the ascent up to Kinigi, near the Volcanoes National Park. Check-in at your accommodation for dinner and overnight rest and relaxation as you prepare for your gorilla tracking.
Meals included: Dinner

Day 2 – Track Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park
We arise with the sun, have breakfast, and meet with a ranger guide before setting off, with a packed lunch, into the gorilla sanctuary. The rain forest landscape is steep and densely forested, but criss-crossed with animal trails allowing access to humans. The trek to spy on the earth’s greatest primate can take several hours of challenging walking in the wet and muddy conditions. However, the thrill of discovering this gentle giant in its own habitat is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. For their safety, the maximum time allowed with the gorillas will be one hour. The memories will be forever embedded in your mind. Dinner and overnight is near the Volcanoes National Park.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Accommodations: Hotel or Lodge
Day 3 – Volcanoes National Park
Today is yours to explore or take an optional tour including a second gorilla trek experience into the habitat of the great apes or a Golden Monkey trek. Alternatively, opt to hike to the grave of Dian Fossey. Dian’s famous study of the gorillas began in 1963, enabling her to monitor their behaviour at close quarters. Fossey’s work continues posthumously through the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Most noteworthy, her grave is situated in Karisoke, among some of her beloved gorillas.
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
