Itinerary
Day 1 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
This morning we set off at 6 am for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We will make a stop at the equator for photo opportunities and lunch in Mbarara town. We then continue south west where winding roads lead through tiered agricultural lands of Kigezi Highlands into the mountain gorillas’ habitat. We spend the night on the misty mountains in anticipation of our tracking adventure.

Day 2 Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Rise with the sun for breakfast, followed by a meeting with a ranger guide before setting off into the sanctuary and the peak experience of gorilla tracking. The rain forest offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense. Therefore,your trek’s time and terrain vary according to the movements of the marvelous mountain gorillas.
Tracking these gentle giants is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. Other mammals may include the rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, and giant forest hog. Avid birdwatchers and ornithologists love exploring the diversity of birdlife that Bwindi supports. By the time you return to camp your memories will be ingrained forever.

Day 3 Batwa Trail, Lake Bunyonyi
Today you will be introduced to Batwa people (formerly called pygmies). Batwa are small bodied forest people who were evicted from the parks in the 90s. Learn how they hunted, their values and superstitions. Guides will showcase their former lives and practices in the forest. Additionally, we visit the Sacred Garama Cave and have a haunting performance by Batwa women. Afterwards, we will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4 Lake Bunyonyi
Hop into a dug-out canoe for a ride on the lake as you marvel at the terraced lands surrounding the lake. Visit Punishment Island and a Batwa community. In the afternoon, relax and take in the enchanting bird-life back at your lodge.

Day 5 Depart
Take a scenic and leisurely ride back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop at Mbarara town and Igongo Cultural Centre. Finally, arrive late afternoon in time for an evening flight out. This marks the end of your Uganda tour.
