Day 2 Chobe National Park
Marvel at the abundance on your twice daily game viewing activities.  Among the great wilderness reserves in the world, Chobe National Park is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephant on the African continent. Surrounded by wildlife management areas and reserves that allow game to roam freely, the 11,700 km2 (4,500 square mile) reserve is located in the far north of Botswana, bordering on the Chobe River. Home to the entire Big Five, Chobe is particularly well known for its large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as the two antelope that cannot be encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and Chobe bushbuck. Chobe offers both dry savanna and permanent swamp, in addition to the vast floodplains along the river. Dense teak woodland provides thick cover in the northeastern parts of the reserve. Watching the elephant families drink and bathe in the river is an unforgettable sight, all the more impressive when herds of buffalo, rafts of hippo and gigantic Nile crocodiles are part of the scene. Lion and spotted hyena are frequently seen on the floodplains, where red lechwe, puku, zebra, sable and roan come out to graze. Sip on a nightcap around the campfire and unwind as your guide keeps you spellbound with their many enthralling stories of the bush.

Accommodations: Tented Camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3 Okavango Delta
Today you will be driven with fellow guests to Kasane Airport, where your flying safari continues on a Mack Air light aircraft. From here, you and fellow guests will be flown to Xaranna airstrip. Experience 2 nights at Okavango Tented Camp in an African safari tent with ensuite bathroom. Your stay includes accommodation, three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits, beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on game drives, scheduled safari activities, emergency medical evacuation insurance, laundry as well as transfers to and from the airstrip (where applicable).

Each tent boasts a romantic lounging area, private plunge pool, indoor bathtub and al fresco shower. The guest areas are all positioned carefully to maximize the sweeping views out across the channels. The intimate guest sitting area boasts a spacious reading area, perfect for afternoon relaxation. The elevated dining area features shady verandas with mesmerizing views leading out onto an open air boma, where exotic candlelit dinners are served under the stars. A fully-stocked Safari Shop offers chic safari gear, African art and jewellery.

Take advantage of the opportunity to walk with the indigenous Bushmen people, and you will be assured of an in-depth know-how on their ancient survival skills. Experience a breath taking mokoro ride which normally concludes with a drink stop in the middle of the delta. Have a picnic lunch delivered to your suite and enjoy it whilst sitting on the top step of your private plunge pool.

Accommodations: Tented Camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4 Okavango Delta
A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife, Botswana’s Okavango Delta lies like a sparkling jewel at the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Known as “the river that never finds the sea”, crystal clear channels spread over the thirstlands of the Kalahari with their papyrus-fringed banks and fertile floating islands. Adapted for a life in and out of water, the elegant red lechwe and shy sitatunga are found in this watery wilderness. Lion, cheetah, leopard and African wild dog share the floodplains with large herds of elephant and buffalo. Hippo inhabit the deeper channels and lagoons, while honey badgers can be seen in broad daylight. Tall termite mounds are homes for families of dwarf and banded mongoose. Experience the delicate details of the glistening waterways in a mokoro (dugout canoe), where iridescent dragonflies, frogs of every colour and jewel-like kingfishers live in the papyrus-lined banks.

Accommodations: Tented Camp
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5 Depart
Enjoy a game drive to the airstrip where a light aircraft will be waiting to fly you, and fellow guests, to Maun Airport (Approx 15 mins). End of services.

Meals: Breakfast

Botswana Note – Luggage – As you will be travelling in vehicles and aircraft with limited space, luggage is required to be packed in a soft bag. No hard suitcases are allowed and oversized bags may not be carried on your lap. An additional seat can be booked for extra luggage, subject to availability.

The weight restriction in each region is as follows:

  • Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique: Maximum of 20kg (44 lbs) which includes hand luggage.

Flights:

  • Check-in is 1.5 hours prior for domestic and 3 hours prior for international departures.
  • Scheduled regional and inter-lodge flights may involve multiple stops before reaching final destination. Flights are operated as “shuttle transfers” and therefore departure times may vary up to 1 hour. Times are subject to change without notice.
  • In the event of bad weather, airlines reserve the right to drop guests off at the nearest serviceable airstrip which may mean a road transfer for guests to get to their final destination.  Any costs resulting from such diversions would be for your own account.
  • Shuttle inter-lodge flights from the Okavango Delta to areas like Savute, Chobe and Kasane (Botswana) may depart very early in the morning which means you will miss your morning game drive. Regrettably, this is beyond our control as flights are scheduled to meet onward road transfers and connecting flights out of Victoria Falls and Livingstone.
  • Aircraft used on inter-lodge flights are small and interior space limited. For the sake of your own comfort, please advise us at time of booking if you are particularly bulky or tall and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Laundry: Most lodges, camps and hotels do their best to deliver a same day laundry service in Botswana, weather permitting. Dry cleaning can be arranged at most hotels but is not available at lodges. At the lodges, laundry soap is generally provided in your room for delicate items. Please be mindful that, due to culture and customs in many of the areas in which we operate, some lodges/camps do not wash underwear.
