Greet our closest cousins, the chimpanzee on this Chimp trek safari. 60 species of mammals inhabit the Kibale National Park, including a substantial number of chimpanzees. Kibale is noted for its primate diversity. Chimpanzee are the most popular; however, you can also spot black & white colobus, red tailed monkesy or grey cheeked mangabeys. Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs, count the primate and bird species as you walk around a swamp. Hike around crater lakes, through villages and plantations with the Rwenzoris as a backdrop. 3 days Kampala to Kampala.
Itinerary
Day 1 Kibale Forest
Take a scenic ride to Kibale Forest National Park, approximately for 6 hours. The scenic route takes you via Mityana and Mubende to Fort Portal town. Continue following meandering routes to Semuliki National Park. Take a walk through the forest and visit Sempaya Hot Springs. The male and female hot springs are phenomenal geographical features. Afterwards, carry on to Kibale Forest National Park.

Day 2 Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Swamp
After an early morning breakfast, transfer to Kanyanchu Tourist centre for briefing prior to the chimpanzee tracking activity. Get trekking through Kibale Forest in search of man’s closest relative, the chimpanzee. Approaching and watching these creatures in their natural habitat is a fantastic wildlife viewing experience. In addition, the forest is also home to several other species of primates as well as an incredible array of birdlife.
60 species of mammals inhabit the Kibale Forest, including a substantial number of chimpanzees. Vervet, red-tailed, L’Hoest and blue monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus, black and white colobus, and olive baboons reside here along with 400 species of birds.
In the afternoon, take a walk around the Bigodi Swamp. This is an initiative of the local people geared towards conservation in this area. You may encounter a variety of interesting plant species, abundant bird and butterfly species, as well as primates. Other wetland mammals include baboons, sitatunga, bush pigs, civet cats, mongooses, and bush bucks.

Day 3 Crater Lake Hike, Depart
This morning, embark on a guided hike covering three crater lakes, villages, tea-plantations and stunning views. Ultimately, this hike takes three to five hours. Your guides can explain village life, the legends of the crater lakes, and the tea and vanilla plantations all along the way. Finally. proceed back to Kampala or Entebbe. Finally, we come to the end of your chimp trek safari and return to Kampala.
